Madam Marie: Tell Me How To Tell If a Friend Is Cheating With My Husband

Dear Madam Marie,

Three years ago I married my college sweetheart and we both moved to southern California to work in the airline industry there. My husband has a job that doesn’t require that he travel but unfortunately the job that I have as an airline stewardess requires that I be do travel at least a few nights out of every week.

Recently however, a good friend of mine from college who I had been staying in touch with arrived in town and I was more then a little surprised to learn that she has began to work in a strip club at night as, “you guessed it”, a stripper. Shes a great dancer and was a gymnast in college and she claims that the pay is very good for what she is doing.

My husband has joked around with her a few times though by claiming the he would like to come out and see her “act”, which I really didn’t think was as funny as they thought it was.

So can I trust her with David while I’m away?

Also can you give me some good pointers on how to tell if a friend is cheating with my husband?

Hopefully Her Work Is Temporary!

Well it does appear on the surface that this is not a good situation to be putting your husband in. It’s not that I have anything against strippers per se, because many of them are in fact just normal women that are doing their best to support their children. However; it sure would be nice if she was working in a job that didn’t require her to strip naked in front of men for a living!

It Was Just a Stupid Joke

Having said that, the fact of the matter is that even a librarian can cheat with your husband if she “and he” really wanted to. I really do think that your husband was joking though when he made the “stupid” remarks about going to the strip club to see her naked at work, because if he had any “real intentions” on dong so, I’m sure he would have kept them to himself.

Do You Trust Him On His Own While Your Away?

I really all does come down to trust however. Especially in light of the fact that you are leaving him on his own a few nights every week. If you trust him then let him know that you do and keep your fingers crossed, because that is really the best that you can do to keep him from cheating.

Keeping Tabs On Your husband While You are Away

However; if you don’t trust him that does change the picture somewhat. If you really want to keep tabs on what is going on while you are away, there are a number of new high tech devices such as phone recorders, computer keystroke recording software and simple voice activated voice recorders that you can use to keep tabs on the situation while you are gone.
